Its no secret to many people that I was not interested in shooting weddings. One of the many reasons for this was I am extremely hard on myself and set high expectations for myself and my work and I did not want to shoot any-one’s wedding until I felt like I could perform to my own standards and give my client’s what they deserved. Shooting a wedding is not easy and knowing how to perform under pressure, stress and know that you have not only the equipment, but also the expertise to shoot in a variety of lighting conditions, including dark churches, full sun, and with time restraints. It is not a task I was willing to take on until I knew I had top quality equipment (and double of it all, in case something fails) and the knowledge and experience to feel confident I could shoot quality images my clients would be proud to hang in their home and cherish for a lifetime. I am happy to say though that I finally feel that level of confidence and comfort. I have teamed up with another amazing photographer, Ashleigh Wells, and we have started up Perfect Blend Photography (website). We shoot boudoir, engagements and weddings together. We shot our first wedding together last year and have shot another two weddings this Summer with another to come in the Fall. It has been a blast and so awesome to photograph such a special day in people’s lives. Ashleigh and I work amazing together, a perfect blend of creativity and knowledge. We both will be continuing with our own portrait businesses, but will also be taking on a limited number of weddings per year as Perfect Blend.
Here are Brad and Jen, a wonderful couple whose wedding we had the pleasure of capturing on June 12.
The wedding was such a blast and was really focused on celebrating their day with a whole bunch of fun, including roasting marshmellows at a camp fire! Brad and Jen are truly a great match and such a beautiful couple on the inside and out!
These are shots that I took (aside from the last shot in the set which was taken by Ashleigh as I was behind Brad and Jen holding the flash), Ashleigh also captured some amazing shots!
